Our Mission & Vision

The mission of Bible Presbyterian Church of Collingswood, New Jersey is to energetically love and serve God, to compassionately love others, and to exalt and magnify the name of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.  The vision of our church is to glorify Jesus Christ as Lord by articulately sharing the Gospel of Christ through personal and corporate witness, making true disciples around the world, supporting and praying for missions, administering the ordinances, edifying believers, and doing all that is Biblically permissible to glorify the name of Jesus Christ.

Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the absolute, ultimate, and final Divine authority of the Eternal Creator God, clearly revealed in the Bible, and realizes that we are only under-shepherds who serve in submission to the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ.  We desire to devote ourselves to prayer, to the ministry of the Word, and to the protection of those entrusted to our care.  Our driving motivation and goals are to lead the lost to Christ, and to equip believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

What we believe:

(Please see expanded details under “What We Believe – A Summary“)

A Bible Believing Church:
Although God has clearly declared His power and Godhead to us through creation, He has verbally and specifically revealed Himself to us in the Bible, which is the Word of God.  The Bible is our only infallible rule of faith and practice.  The Bible tells us who God is, why man is a lost sinner, how God has extended his love, mercy and grace to us through Jesus Christ for salvation, and what duty God requires of man.

A Christ Centered Church:
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Second Person of the Trinity, the Eternal Son of God, co-equal and co-eternal with God the Father and the Holy Spirit.  Jesus Christ must have preeminence in all things, for He is the only Redeemer and Savior.  Our Lord Jesus Christ permanently took on sinless humanity through the literal virgin birth as prophesied in the Old Testament.  Christ died in our place, as our substitute, on the Cross of Calvary, was buried, and rose again (literally and bodily) the third day according to the Scriptures.  As man, He is able to identify with us and represent us before our Heavenly Father.  As God, He is holy, sinless, and able to satisfy the divine justice of a Holy God.  Eternal salvation is obtained by faith alone, in Christ alone.  Good works are the result of salvation, not its cause.

A Gospel Preaching Church:  All human beings come into this world as lost sinners under the judgment of God and needing to be saved.  We believe that the human race fell into sin when Adam sinned.  Adam is the literal, single progenitor of the human race with his wife Eve, both of whom were created on the literal 6th day of creation in the image of God.  As a result of the sin of Adam each of us has a sin nature, and is a sinner by practice.  All human beings are consequently under God’s wrath and curse and are, because of the sin of Adam and our own personal sins, made liable to all the miseries of this life, to death itself, and to the pains of hell forever.  God the Father, in love, sent His only begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for man’s sin. Jesus Christ died in our place and is the Redeemer and Savior of all who trust Him.
